June 30, 2009 (MINNEAPOLIS) Currently, there is a video on YouTube of an incident that occurred sometime during the Minneapolis Gay Pride Festival. There has been some speculation that Minneapolis Police Officers were in that video. The Minneapolis Police Department wants to assure the public that those security officers who casually walk by during this incident were not from our department. We have a strict uniform policy and those were not our uniforms or our police officers. This is unacceptable behavior that would not be tolerated by the Minneapolis Police. Action would have been taken immediately to stop the harassment that is depicted in the video.

We want all people, no matter of color, race, creed or sexual orientation to feel safe and welcome while they are in the city of Minneapolis.

Green Day Pissed at Wal-Mart

Well it looks like Green Days Latest Album "21st Century Breakdown" will not be on the shelves of Wal-Mart due to the parental advisory sticker it would have to have for having curses and some references considered about adult activities. Well I guess it is okay that Wal-Mart sells Rated R movies where there is full frontal nudity, violence, blood, racist, and cursing in them though? Where is it that you draw the line on what to sell and not to sell because of free speech?? Well to be honest Green Day they would probably sell your new album for $9.88 like they do all the other albums and you wouldn't get as much royalist from it anyways. I think it is good that Green Day has stood up to the big bully Wal-Mart.

Oklahoma's House of Representatives is the first legislative body to pass a state sovereignty resolution this year under the terms of the Tenth Amendment.

The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed House Joint Resolution 1003 Feb. 18 by a wide margin, 83 to 13, resolving, "That the State of Oklahoma hereby claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States."

The language of HJR 1003 further serves notice to the federal government "to cease and desist, effectively immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers."

The sponsor of the resolution, state Rep. Charles Key, told WND the measure was a 'big step toward addressing the biggest problem we have in this country – the federal government violating the supreme law of the land."

"The Constitution either means what it says, or it doesn't mean anything at all," Key said. "The federal government must honor and obey the Constitution, just like the states and this citizens of this country are obligated to do, or our system of government begins to fall apart."

The Ninth Amendment reads, "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." The Tenth Amendment specifically provides, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

As WND reported, eight states have introduced resolutions declaring state sovereignty under the Ninth and Tenth Amendments to the Constitution: Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Washington.

Analysts expect 12 additional states may see similar measures introduced this year, including Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Nevada, Maine and Pennsylvania.

Garcia said the officers — a Bexar County sheriff's deputy and an employee from a private security company — began harassing them Dec. 26 because her girlfriend gave her a kiss on the cheek while sitting inside the mall on a bench.

Mall officials said the women, both 22, were acting inappropriately and were told to leave because they were not complying with the shopping center's code of conduct.

Finally tonight as promised, a Special Comment on the passage, last week, of Proposition Eight in California, which rescinded the right of same-sex couples to marry, and tilted the balance on this issue, from coast to coast.

Some parameters, as preface. This isn't about yelling, and this isn't about politics, and this isn't really just about Prop-8. And I don't have a personal investment in this: I'm not gay, I had to strain to think of one member of even my very extended family who is, I have no personal stories of close friends or colleagues fighting the prejudice that still pervades their lives.

And yet to me this vote is horrible. Horrible. Because this isn't about yelling, and this isn't about politics.

This is about the... human heart, and if that sounds corny, so be it.

If you voted for this Proposition or support those who did or the sentiment they expressed, I have some questions, because, truly, I do not... understand. Why does this matter to you? What is it to you? In a time of impermanence and fly-by-night relationships, these people over here want the same chance at permanence and happiness that is your option. They don't want to deny you yours. They don't want to take anything away from you. They want what you want -- a chance to be a little less alone in the world.

Only now you are saying to them -- no. You can't have it on these terms. Maybe something similar. If they behave. If they don't cause too much trouble. You'll even give them all the same legal rights -- even as you're taking away the legal right, which they already had. A world around them, still anchored in love and marriage, and you are saying, no, you can't marry. What if somebody passed a law that said you couldn't marry?

I keep hearing this term "re-defining" marriage.

If this country hadn't re-defined marriage, black people still couldn't marry white people. Sixteen states had laws on the books which made that illegal... in 1967. 1967.

The parents of the President-Elect of the United States couldn't have married in nearly one third of the states of the country their son grew up to lead. But it's worse than that. If this country had not "re-defined" marriage, some black people still couldn't marry...black people. It is one of the most overlooked and cruelest parts of our sad story of slavery. Marriages were not legally recognized, if the people were slaves. Since slaves were property, they could not legally be husband and wife, or mother and child. Their marriage vows were different: not "Until Death, Do You Part," but "Until Death or Distance, Do You Part." Marriages among slaves were not legally recognized.

You know, just like marriages today in California are not legally recognized, if the people are... gay.

And uncountable in our history are the number of men and women, forced by society into marrying the opposite sex, in sham marriages, or marriages of convenience, or just marriages of not knowing -- centuries of men and women who have lived their lives in shame and unhappiness, and who have, through a lie to themselves or others, broken countless other lives, of spouses and children... All because we said a man couldn't marry another man, or a woman couldn't marry another woman. The sanctity of marriage. How many marriages like that have there been and how on earth do they increase the "sanctity" of marriage rather than render the term, meaningless?

What is this, to you? Nobody is asking you to embrace their expression of love. But don't you, as human beings, have to embrace... that love? The world is barren enough.

It is stacked against love, and against hope, and against those very few and precious emotions that enable us to go forward. Your marriage only stands a 50-50 chance of lasting, no matter how much you feel and how hard you work.

And here are people overjoyed at the prospect of just that chance, and that work, just for the hope of having that feeling. With so much hate in the world, with so much meaningless division, and people pitted against people for no good reason, this is what your religion tells you to do? With your experience of life and this world and all its sadnesses, this is what your conscience tells you to do?

With your knowledge that life, with endless vigor, seems to tilt the playing field on which we all live, in favor of unhappiness and hate... this is what your heart tells you to do? You want to sanctify marriage? You want to honor your God and the universal love you believe he represents? Then Spread happiness -- this tiny, symbolic, semantical grain of happiness -- share it with all those who seek it. Quote me anything from your religious leader or book of choice telling you to stand against this. And then tell me how you can believe both that statement and another statement, another one which reads only "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

You are asked now, by your country, and perhaps by your creator, to stand on one side or another. You are asked now to stand, not on a question of politics, not on a question of religion, not on a question of gay or straight. You are asked now to stand, on a question of...love. All you need do is stand, and let the tiny ember of love meet its own fate. You don't have to help it, you don't have it applaud it, you don't have to fight for it. Just don't put it out. Just don't extinguish it. Because while it may at first look like that love is between two people you don't know and you don't understand and maybe you don't even want to know...It is, in fact, the ember of your love, for your fellow **person...

Just because this is the only world we have. And the other guy counts, too.

This is the second time in ten days I find myself concluding by turning to, of all things, the closing plea for mercy by Clarence Darrow in a murder trial.

But what he said, fits what is really at the heart of this:

"I was reading last night of the aspiration of the old Persian poet, Omar-Khayyam," he told the judge.

"It appealed to me as the highest that I can vision. I wish it was in my heart, and I wish it was in the hearts of all:

"So I be written in the Book of Love;

"I do not care about that Book above.

Yeah I know I was suppose to blog on my trip over from Beantown to Minneapolis but I was too busy driving like a mad man to get here. So I drove from Boston, MA to my friends Ed and Joe's place in CT and spent the first night on the road with them. The second day I drove from CT to Toledo, OH and spent the night there in a Holiday Inn hotel. The third day I drove from Toledo, OH to Madison, WI and spent the night there in a Super 8 hotel. The fourth day I drove from Madison, WI to Minneapoils, MN and went right into work so I could get some things in order for me to start on August 11th. So it has been a busy, busy, busy time for me.... I will try to blog more soon...

I am glad I don't live in Oklahoma anymore because this woman would have me sitting in her office waiting to talk to hear about these foul and misleading words of hate that she has. This just goes to show you never know how is listening.......

"The homosexual agenda is destroying this nation. Okay, it's just a fact. Not everybody's lifestyle is equal. Just like not all religions are equal. The very fact that I'm talking to you like this here today puts me in jeopardy. And, I'm not anti, I'm not gay bashing, but according to God's word, that is not the right kind of lifestyle. It has deadly consequences. For those people who are involved in it, they have more suicides, they're more discouraged, they have more illness, their life spans are shorter, you know. It's not a lifestyle that is good for this nation. Matter of fact, studies show that no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than, you know, a few decades. So, it's the death nail for this country. I honestly think it's the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam, which I think is a big threat. Because what is happening now they're going after, in schools, two-year-olds. You know why they're trying to get early childhood education? They want to get our young children into the government schools so they can indoctrinate them. I taught school for close to 20 years and we're not teaching facts and knowledge anymore folks, we're teaching indoctrination. And, they're going after our children as young as two years of age to try to teach them that the homosexual lifestyle is an acceptable lifestyle. Gays are infiltrating city councils. Did you know, Eureka Springs. Anybody been there, the Passion Play? Have you heard that the city council of Eureka Springs is now controlled by gays? One of the things I deal with in our legislature, I tried to introduce a bill last year that would notify parents, schools had to let parents know what clubs their students were involved in and the reason I did that bill was primarily this -- we have the Gay/Straight alliance coming into our schools. Kids are getting involved in these groups, their lives are being ruined, their parents don't know about it. So, I introduced a bill that said you have to notify all clubs. And, one of my colleagues said 'you know we don't have a gay problem in my community, so that's why I voted against that bill.' You know what, to me that is so dumb. If you've got cancer or something in your little toe, do you say well I'm just going to forget about it because the rest of me is fine? It spreads, okay? And, this stuff is deadly and it's spreading and it will destroy our young people and it will destroy this nation."

I know it has been a while since I have post anything but I have to post about my recent trip from St Louis (STL) to Baltiomre (BWI) and then on to Manchester, NH (MHT). It was 68 degrees when I left St Louis on Sunday the 2nd of December so instead of carrying my jackets onto the flight I check both of them in my luggage. While at Lambert International Airport in St Louis I had checked in and gotten my things together after having TSA go through everything. I sat down at my gate and noticed that there were some dark clouds rolling in and I had heard that there were going to be some rain in the area in the afternoon. Well after about 30 minutes of dark clouds coming right at the airport it poured down rain for a good 20 minutes. Not really thinking of it I got on my flight and then flew to Baltimore had a lay over and then boarded my flight there and made to Manchester, NH where it was snowing and 24 degrees outside. After getting my rental car and then waiting on my luggage to come out I opened my luggage and guess what? My jackets were soaked and so was most of my clothes in my luggage. Needless to say I was a little pissed about this seeing as it was cold as hell out and both of my jackets were soaked. So I go tot he baggage claim office where a customer service rep was and I showed her my jacket and coat and then showed here the other piece of luggage I that was water logged. She called a supervisor and he told her on the phone that all Southwest was willing to do was pay for any dry cleaning and if there was any damage from colors bleeding from one piece of clothing to another. I was like well that doesn't help my issue any because I had no coat and it was 24 degrees outside. So needless to say I am not too happy with Southwest right now because they didn't show me any luv that is for sure.

I want to congratulate the Colorado Rockies Baseball team on a great National League Division Series win and now the National League Championship Series Pennant Champions! For the first time since the Rockies joined Major League Baseball in 1993 they are the National League Championship Series winners and are heading for the World Series. As you can see by this video the New York Yankees Fans are not very friendly.
This all happened in the bleacher section of the baseball stadium. I know this for a fact because I myself was there on 04/18/07 and got yelled at by several of the so called best fans in baseball saying to me "St Louis Cardinals SUCKS." I was there to watch the game and support their team and I get treated this way? I can see now why the whole bleacher section is NON-ALCOHOL!! I also remember seeing two people walk into the bleachers section and all the people pointing their finger at them and yelling "ASSHOLE" as well as two Cleveland Indians fans. I think I really appreciate the fact that the city I live is is Baseball Heaven because we do not treat any fans from other teams the way that the Yankee fans treat others. I really feel that the New York fans love taunting other people because they don't "fit" in to what the Yankees are about. Case and point I was reading The Good as You blog and seen that Adam McManus said and I quote "I have no problem with the police chief being at the parade if his role was to arrest people for indecent exposure, which apparently goes on with great frequency at these homosexual pride parade events," ..."But he should never have accepted the invitation to serve as grand marshal, endorsing a behavior that is unnatural, unhealthy, and immoral." This is in response to the San Antonio Chief of Police being the grand marshall for this year Gay Pride Parade. So with that I wrote to Mr Adam McManus and gave him a piece of my mind just like I did to Fox News about getting the facts straight before you report on something.

So does that mean if I go out and get drunk and get pulled over I only have to do 21 days in jail and then I am done? It seems like it's happening all the time recently: Passengers stranged on a plane waiting in line on a runway ... but this story is a little different.

After being stranded on a plane at Kennedy Airport for four hours on June 21, Delta Flight 5637 passenger David Ollila -- who happens to work V.I.O., Inc., a company that manufactures small helmet-style camcorders -- stormed to the cockpit to confront the pilot, demanding to know why the passengers weren't being allowed off the plane and filming the whole exchange. Eventually, the pilot even admits that it's an untenable situation; the passengers were ultimately allowed off the plane and the flight was cancelled.

Delta Flight 6499 JFK to DFW on June 25 2007 experienced more than just a routine delay.. for seven hours, four children screamed, and we were told by crew that they couldn't feed us because Delta simply wouldn't allow it.

Okay so it looks like Nebraska is my new favorite state!!!
Nebraska law states that it is a Class 3 misdemeanor when a person "intentionally casts contempt or ridicule upon a flag by mutilating, defacing, defiling, burning or trampling upon such flag." The law was passed in 1977.
In a previous post here I talk about how I hate the fact that people treat our US Flag and how much it angers me. Well it looks like the WBC (Westboro Baptist Church) has been rung up for this. Here is the story:

Omaha, Neb. — A member of the Kansas church that protests at soldier funerals across the nation was arrested Tuesday after her son stomped on a U.S. flag during a protest in Bellevue.

Shirley Phelps-Roper, 49, of Topeka, Kan., was arrested on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Phelps-Roper acknowledged that she allowed her 10-year-old son, Jonah, to stand on the flag — an action that she says is protected by the U.S. Constitution.

Bellevue Police Capt. Herb Evers said a 1977 Nebraska statute makes it unlawful for a person to trample on a flag.

Phelps-Roper is a member of Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka. She is a daughter of the church’s founder, the Rev. Fred Phelps.

Phelps-Roper said church members have protested at more than 280 military funerals in 43 states since June 15, 2005, and that Tuesday marked her church’s first arrest at a funeral.

Here is another story on what happened in Omaha:

She is free on $150 bond.

Bellevue police arrested Phelps-Roper on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Phelps-Roper told the Capital-Journal that trampling the flag is a constitutionally protected and righteous act.

"Every symbol of the rebellious, doomed America must necessarily be disrespected," Phelps-Roper told the paper. "We did our duty today to our God and fellow man. Our job is to cause this nation to know her abomination. The thing they worship, the flag, is worthless. It's a piece of cloth."

Phelps-Roper was defiant as usual.

"Those rogue cops cooked up this scheme," she said, "and now the question is whether the person who sits in the office of the prosecutor has character. If they pursue this, our next stop will be federal court in Nebraska to challenge that unconstitutional statute."

So now the question becomes will the WBC hate clan be traveling back to Nebraska any time soon? Or will they say that the next natural disaster was because they were arrested in NE and that this is GOD'S way of punishing the US?? Well I guess I will keep my eye in the sky for something to happen.
